Saint
Francis Academy
The
Chapel provides Christmas gifts and Easter baskets for the boys
at Saint Francis Academy (formerly St. Michael's Boys Home) in Picayune,
Mississippi.
Founded
in 1945, the Saint Francis Academy is a not-for-profit, national
behavioral healthcare organization serving children, youth and their
families. Residential facilities, early-intervention and prevention
programs are located in Kansas, New York, Pennsylvania, New Mexico,
Ohio and Indiana as well as Mississippi.
The
Saint Francis mission is to be an instrument of healing for children,
youth and families in spirit, mind and body, so they live responsibly
and productively with purpose and hope.
The
campus recently opened Bridgeway Apartments to provide assisted
living services for adults with developmental disabilities in an
environment that allows the maximum level of independence for each
resident. Residents in the 12-unit complex are encouraged to reach
their full potential for independence. Any adult, age 18 or older,
seeking independence and fulfillment despite developmental challenges,
may apply for residence. Applicants must be willing to work hard,
accept personal responsibility and actively participate in community
activities. Support services include behavioral health services,
supported employment and residential habilitation.
